You sure have. Despite, or perhaps because of, Cyprus having the biggest Civil Service in the EU it appears to be the least efficient.

I was speaking to a Cypriot friend today (yes I still have at least one) and the conversation started by him asking me if the UK were leaving the EU.

My reply was that the UK is scheduled to have a referendum and that if Merkel doesn't make the UK a better offer then it may be a yes vote to leave. I think I said an example of a better offer was that even though the UK is part of the EU club, it and some other member states were not happy bailing out 'the less hard working countries'.

My Cypriot friend pointed out that Greeks and Cypriots are not lazy it is a difference in culture i.e. Germans and Brits run around working hard (trying to keep warm) and Cypriots sit around (trying to keep cool).

I accept the way of life is different here and that is why the EU, or more specifically the Euro, doesn't work. You can't have efficient Germans working a full week to bailout other EU members that work half a week. The Cypriot Pound should have been retained like the British Pound so it can b
