  • Michael Bublé: The Biography

    December 28, 2013
First I think that that I need to say that I really like Michael Buble's music, and his singing skills. He is one of my favourite male singers (though def NOT my favourite!), and so I was pretty keen to find out more about him and how he rose to fame.
Now I know that I still like the voice but really quite dislike the person. : ) Honestly, I have never read a biography in which the biographer spends more time apologising about certain thing their subject says or does. It seemed like almost every second sentence was "Of course, this wasn't the real Michael Buble speaking...", or "...again, Michael was showing himself to be a family man at heart..." Not to mention he's got a mouth like sewer trap. Oh, swipe me, ain't we classy?
So, reading this book, I have come to the conclusion that Michael is a genuine, laid-back guy. But he also appears to be arrogant, rude and very-well aware of who he is and his 'heart-throb' status. (????) I reckon he'd be alright once you got to know him, but personally I still much prefer Josh Groban.

Singer and actor Michael Steven Bublé was born on September 9, 1975, in Burnaby, British Columbia. Bublé's father, Lewis, was often out at sea. This left his mother, Amber, and grandfather, Demetrio Santanga, as the primary caregivers for Bublé; and his two younger sisters, Crystal and Brandee.

Santanga's huge collection of records was the foundation of Bublé's passion for classic jazz and soul music. Thanks to famed artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, it wasn't too long before young Michael decided that he wanted to follow in their famous footsteps. Said Bublé, "I wanted to be a singer and I knew that this was the music that I wanted to sing."

With the encouragement of his grandfather, Bublé entered and won a local talent contest. When the organizer, Beverly Delich, later discovered that Bublé was only 17—one year younger than the contest requirements—she d
